As a matter of fact, Jesus 00:07:25.420 --> 00:07:30.860 said, In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world. 00:07:31.690 --> 00:07:36.540 The Apostle Paul said in his letter to the Philippians, I know what it is to be in need, 00:07:36.940 --> 00:07:41.500 and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any 00:07:41.930 --> 00:07:48.459 situation, whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. So does what Jesus said 00:07:48.480 --> 00:07:53.380 or what Paul said line up with the teaching that Eliphaz gave or some of the preachers today? 00:07:54.100 --> 00:07:59.500 I don't think so. There are many examples of godly people in the Bible who faced difficult 00:07:59.920 --> 00:08:05.600 situations, and many scriptures that tell us that we can expect troubles, but that God will be with 00:08:05.700 --> 00:08:12.219 us through those times, not that he would deliver us from those times. When any preacher tells you 00:08:12.240 --> 00:08:18.540 that all you need is faith, faith, and more faith, and that by that faith you'll be magically healed, 00:08:19.080 --> 00:08:24.520 or drive a fancy car and live in the finest neighborhood, he's lying to you, to line his own 00:08:24.840 --> 00:08:29.960 pockets. And I shudder to think of how many people have turned from God because this kind of faith 00:08:30.200 --> 00:08:36.799 just doesn't work.
