I could never think that way. My brain doesn't work like that. Maybe I'm not smart enough. I like to 00:11:56.720 --> 00:12:02.100 think, though, that because the Holy Spirit lives in me, He protects me from such thoughts. As a 00:12:02.180 --> 00:12:07.680 matter of fact, in chapter 37, verse 4, David says, Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you 00:12:07.740 --> 00:12:13.639 your heart's desires. Well, the way I understand that verse, David is not saying that God will give 00:12:13.660 --> 00:12:19.180 you whatever you want, but that if you delight in Him, He will cause your heart to desire what 00:12:19.420 --> 00:12:25.660 pleases Him. He will give you your heart's desires. But I most certainly do have my share of failures. 00:12:26.340 --> 00:12:32.300 In my more than half-century of following Him, I have discovered, like David, that real joy is 00:12:32.560 --> 00:12:38.340 found in staying as close to God as I can, and I am so very thankful that I am His.
